Discipline / Build

Built to work, not just to impress.

Websites, applications, AI tools, automation and bots, scoped around what the thing has to do and delivered ready for real use. The finished build is deployed, tested on real devices and handed over with its files and access.

01

What gets built

From a single landing page to an application with accounts, data and an admin side. The approach is chosen from the requirement, not from a preferred stack.

02

How a build runs

Six stages, in order. Each one ends with something you can look at, so the project is never a black box between the brief and the launch.

Stage 01 Scope What the project has to do, who uses it, and what it does not need. Written in plain language and agreed before anything is designed.
Stage 02 Structure Pages, screens, data and flows mapped out. This is where most problems get found, while they are still cheap to fix.
Stage 03 Design Layout, type, colour and states designed against the structure, at the sizes people will actually use.
Stage 04 Build The real thing gets built: front end, logic, integrations and the admin side, in reviewable pieces rather than one long silence.
Stage 05 Test Real devices and real browsers. Layout, forms, links, load behaviour, keyboard use and the paths that break things.
Stage 06 Launch Deployment, domain, certificates and handover. Files, accounts and instructions come to you, so the project is yours to run.

03

What handover means

A build is finished when someone else can run it. That is the standard applied here, whether the project is a landing page or an internal system.

Deployed, not zipped

The project goes live on real hosting with its domain and certificate in place, rather than arriving as a folder you have to work out how to publish.

Responsive on real devices

Layouts are checked from small phones to wide desktops, including the awkward widths in between, before anything is called done.

Yours to own

Repositories, accounts, source files and credentials transfer to you. There is no dependency built in to keep you paying for access.

Documented enough to use

Short, practical notes on how to update content, where things live and what to do if something needs changing later.
